On May 15, 2026, Aqobah International School (AIS) Jombang successfully held the AIS – International Scientific Talk (IST) May Edition, an academic event designed to encourage innovation, creativity, and scientific curiosity among students and educators. The program brought together participants from various educational backgrounds to discuss the importance of scientific inquiry in shaping the future generation of Indonesia.
The event featured Mr. Ahlan Riwahyu Habibi, S.Pd., M.Si., Chemistry Teacher of AIS, as the keynote speaker. In his presentation, he delivered a thought-provoking topic entitled:
“A Guided Inquiry Experiment on the Factors that Effect the Reaction Kinetic to Build the Era of Indonesian Industrialization Since Early Age.”
During the session, Mr. Ahlan explained how guided inquiry-based experiments can improve students’ understanding of reaction kinetics while simultaneously developing critical thinking, analytical reasoning, collaboration, and problem-solving skills. The discussion highlighted the importance of introducing scientific investigation from an early age to prepare Indonesian students for the challenges of future industrial and technological development.
The scientific talk was conducted interactively, allowing participants to engage in discussions, ask questions, and share perspectives regarding chemistry education and modern learning methods. Several student presenters also demonstrated their enthusiasm and confidence while presenting scientific ideas and participating in collaborative discussions.
In addition to strengthening academic knowledge, the event aimed to cultivate a scientific culture among students by encouraging them to become active learners who are capable of contributing innovative ideas for society and national progress. The atmosphere of the event reflected AIS Jombang’s vision of creating learners who are innovative, creative, and future-ready.
